*This blog*
Making Conversation with Museums explores how the suite of ’sociable technologies’ like Facebook, Flikr, del.icio.us etc , all under the ‘web 2.0′ umbrella, can allow visitors/viewers/users to respond, creatively or otherwise to what we find in our museums’real and virtual spaces.
This blog was initially for me to note down ideas and keep track of my wildly tangential research paths as I immersed myself in the network as a final project for my M.A in e-Learning. Now it is a place for me to continue exploring how we are, and can, use social networking to create conversations and more.

Hi Francesca,
I’m really interested in hearing more about your MA thesis, and if you have any good references you can give me on the topic. I am curretnly writing an academic article on art museums and galleries who are wising up to the digital age and using social networking tools to increase their profile, and get their audiences to interact with them in a new way.
Am sure there are a number of purists who are not so impressed with the way things are going… anyway, any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Evie,
Sorry to take so long to respond, I’ve started a new job and moved house but I think the chaos is subsiding and kind of under control. A good starting place may be the museum 3.0 community http://museum30.ning.com/, here you’ll find a community of people who are working in museums and may have some useful information for you. I used to work at the Brooklyn Museum http://www.brooklynmuseum.org and think their community section would be a great resource as well.
Let me know if I can help you out in any other way.
Cheers,
Francesca
